Abstract

Industri konstruksi merupakan industri yang berdampak terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi sebuah negara, namun industri ini menyumbang waste cukup besar. Dalam mengurangi waste tersebut, muncullah metode manajemen yang dapat mengurangi produksi waste yang di sebut construction waste management (cwm). Penelitian ini ingin mencari faktor kritis kesuksesan dan tingkat pelaksanaan cwm di Surabaya. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan interview terstruktur mengenai tingkat kritis dan pelaksanaan faktor kesuksesan cwm di Surabaya oleh 5 responden yang bergerak di kontraktor dan pengawasan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hampir keseluruhan faktor dianggap kritis oleh responden. Faktor dari tenaga kerja, kebijakan, dan strategi merupakan faktor yang perlu diperhatikan lebih. Alasannya adalah diperlukan tenaga kerja yang kompeten dan budaya peduli waste dalam perusahaan. Sayangnya pelaksanaan dari faktor-faktor menunjukkan hasil yang kurang baik. Pada pelaksanaan kontraktor merasa banyak faktor yang tidak bisa dilakukan karena adanya keterbatasan dengan teknologi, pengetahuan, dan regulasi yang tidak tegas untuk menjalankan faktor-faktor tersebut dengan baik.
